Affordable generalist with short reproductive cycle. Controls pests at warmer temperatures than cucumeris mites.

Amblyseius swirskii is a fast-reproducing predatory mite used for natural pest control in warm environments. Effective against thrips, whiteflies, and various spider mites, these highly mobile mites work quickly to reduce pest populations.

Swirskii mites lay oval-shaped eggs on leaf surfaces near pests, ensuring rapid establishment. Their short life cycle allows for continuous reproduction, providing long-lasting protection in gardens, greenhouses, and commercial crops.

BOTTLE vs SACHET / PRO TIPS

PREDATORY MITES IN BOTTLES vs SLOW RELEASE SACHETS

BOTTLED MITES

Best choice for an active infestation.

  • High percentage of hungry adults.
  • Introduce weekly or every other week, as needed.
  • Effective indoors or outdoors (gardens, houseplants, greenhouses, or agricultural areas).

Predatory mites in bottles are a cost-effective and targeted solution to address active infestations or to cover extensive areas common in large scale gardens, greenhouses, and agricultural areas. While predatory mites are avaialble in all life stages, bottled mites contain high concentrations of hungry adults, ensuring an immediate impact on pest populations. Whether distributed directly onto plant foliage or divided into optional hanging boxes.

SLOW RELEASE SACHETS

Best choice for preventative care.

  • Great for preventative and maintenance programs.
  • Inexpensive way to keep predators on your plants.
  • Packed with all life stages for a steady flow of predators for 2-4 weeks.

Slow release sachets stand out as a convenient, time-saving, and highly effective approach to both preventative and long-term mite pest management. These sachets serve as a slow-release and protective haven for immature predatory mites. Sachets are a user-friendly and convenient method of targeted application in situations where manual application might be intrusive or impractical. The distribution process is as easy as hanging a sachet on your plant.

PRO TIPS

For complete control of a spider mite infestation, use in conjunction with Stethorus punctillum, an effective predatory beetle with a large appetite that will also feed on aphids.

For complete control of a spider mite infestation, use in conjunction with Feltiella acarisuga, an effective predator of spider mites that can fly.

INTRODUCTION RATES

BOTTLED MITES
Best choice for an active infestation.
Light Infestation: 2-5 mites per square foot.
Heavy Infestation: 5-10 mites per square foot.
Introduce weekly or bi-weekly as needed.
Temperature Range: 68-96° F.
Humidity: 40-90%.

SLOW RELEASE SACHETS
Don't fight pests, prevent them.
If plants are touching, hang one sachet per 3-6 sq. ft.,
If plants are not touching, hang one sachet per plant.
Apply every 2-4 weeks.

It's important to note that these introduction rates serve as general guidelines and can differ depending on the specific pest species, the plant being treated, and level of infestation. Proper monitoring of the infestation and the released beneficial insect population is crucial for determining the success of the biological control strategy.
APPLICATION
MITES IN BOTTLE INTRODUCTION
  1. Introduce in the morning, evening, or when grow lights are off.

  2. Locate plants with infestation and knock down any webbing, if applicable.

  3. Lightly mist leaves before introduction.

  4. Disperse mites onto infested area by sprinkling bottle contents directly onto plants, or pour bottle contents into hanging boxes to concentrate your predators without making a mess. Leave open container in place for 72 hours to allow any remaining mites to be introduced.

  5. Introduce predatory mites bi-weekly until infestation is under control.

    SLOW RELEASE SACHET INTRODUCTION
      1. Locate plants where you want to prevent infestation.

      2. Hang sachet on plant, out of direct sunlight.

      3. Introduce slow release sachets every 2-4 weeks to prevent infestation.

Sachets should not be allowed to dry up entirely, and direct sunlight should be avoided. Prolonged moisture and damp environments can cause sachets to degrade or encourage fungal growth.

      STORAGE
For best results, introduce immediately upon receipt. If storage is necessary, store at 45-55°F for no longer than 24 hours. Store out of direct sunlight. Do not freeze.
